In busy clinics, patients are often seen back-to-back throughout the day. Equipment may be handled repeatedly between appointments, and disposable accessories can sometimes be prepared before the patient arrives, giving little visibility into infection-control procedures.

Every SoundBack appointment follows strict clinical infection-control procedures. Your treatment is carried out in the comfort of your own clean home. All reusable equipment is thoroughly sanitised before every appointment, while every disposable ear speculum and microsuction tip is opened from a brand-new sterile medical packet in front of you before treatment begins.
Standard Clinic Experience
Some providers charge the full treatment fee regardless of the outcome. If the earwax is too hard to remove safely, patients are often asked to soften the wax with olive oil before booking and paying for another full appointment.
The SoundBack Standard
Your safety always comes first. If your earwax is too impacted to remove comfortably, we will pause the procedure and recommend olive oil drops for a further 2–3 days. We then return to complete the treatment without charging another visit fee. If our initial video otoscopy shows that no earwax removal is required, your refundable booking deposit is returned in full.

For many providers, your appointment ends as soon as you leave the clinic. If your hearing changes, you experience recurring wax build-up, or simply want reassurance that everything remains healthy, you may need to book and pay for another consultation.

We revisit your home, inspect your ear canals using our professional video otoscope and ensure everything remains healthy, clear and comfortable—providing extra reassurance at no additional cost.
